ALL ABOUT THE BROWS.

Hello Beauties! Today on the blog is all about the brows! Such a serious subject in my opinion, i dont know about you guys but i cannot leave the house with my brows on. Over the years i have trialed and tested so many brow products its a little cray! Ive tried products with different textures from pencils to powder to pomade and even to gel and i am consistently changing my brow routine and right now i am pretty happy with my results, of course you can see my brows on my instagram! Which if you were wondering is @krystaljohnston

The MUA Pro Brow Kit has been my tried and true product, i have loved this product for so long and i will go through little phases of loving this and then loving something else but i always come back to it. On a bonus point with this product on the lazy days i actually use this as eyeshadow! Last point about this product is that is dirt cheap! It retails for 3 pounds 50 which converts to $6.71 Australian dollars, now if you are wanting to order off the MUA website it does cost about $15 for shipping so definitely take a peek at their blushes and eyeshadow palettes to!

The two peas in a pod award has to go to the next two products. Loreal Brow Artist collection is kind of amazing, they have recently released the pencil and the brow plumper. If you are familiar with the Benefit Gimme Brow then you probably enjoy this product also, the brow plumper has two shades to choose from and the neat thing about it is that this product has fibres in it to make your brows look naturally thicker, uh god send! Now the pencil is quite unique because of the colour, if you are familair with any 'drugstore' brow products you will know that they are so warm toned! The reason i am head of heels in love with this product is because the blonde shade is almost like a taupe grey shade and it is so lovely to see a brand bring something like this out, halilujah for Loreal! The pencil has a waxy pencil on one side to set everything in place once you have filled in your brows with the coloured pencil on the other side, if you havent tried these products i highly recommend it!
RRP Brow Plumper - $18.95
RRP Brow Pencil - $22.95

MY TOP 3 | PURPLE LIPSTICK

Hello Beauties! Today on the blog is again a continuous post about my top 3 products! Today might not be everyone cup of tea, but it is certainly my cup of tea. Purple lipstick! Mmm, music to my ears! Purple lipstick has definitely become quite the popular trend over the past year, this daring colour has definatley made its way across the shelves of many different brands. Now when you think of purple you have to take into account the many different shades and tones of purple, i love the intense and true purple tones as the next girl, but i know that may scare some people away. I have three different purple tone options for you to look at and maybe.. just maybe you may warm up to the idea of actually wearing a purple lipstick! Let the darkness take over you and lets look shall we!

REVLON MATTE BALM STAIN - SHAMELESS
RRP - $17.95
This colour is the darkest out of the three, although it may look like a terrifying shade you may be surprised on how easy this is to pull of. Im sure at this point you think i am a little nuts but i promise you, this is definately a winter staple for me. This is the cheapest out of the three also, it is by Revlon so it is very accesable for everyone globally. It is also a matte formula, the staying power one this product is quite impressive, i find though with the 'stain' claim, i do not find this is the case with the matte balm particularly but it you do not mind touching up your lippy after meals then this is definately one to try!

MAC LIPSTICK - REBEL
RRP - $36.00
Mac lipsticks are truely one of my favourite splurges, i have said it once and ill say again, they really are amazing. If you have not heard anything about Mac Rebel, then let me pull you out from under that rock and let me introduce you to the most beautiful berry tone purple! This lipstick has been so hyped over its just ridiculous! This lipstick is definately the most wearable for the everyday women, it is such a beaitufl colour and very comfortable to wear on the lips. If you dont mind the price tag and if you are just getting into the darker lip shades then id say this one a worth a go!

TWO FACED MELTED LIPSTICK - MELTED VIOLET
RRP $28.00
I honestly cannot express my love for this product. Let me give you a quick run down on how brilliant this product is! First off the pigmentation on this is just out of this world, second the price is amazing, typically for a high end brand they would at least $50+. Third, they are so unbelievably comfortable on the lips and four, they wear off the lips evenly! Um, hello! Best product every?! I think so. At this stage Two Faced have only released a couple of shades, crazy and neutral so it is the best of both worlds but they need to release more colours!! Besides that i really have no criticism for this product, i love it and would highly recommend it.

MY TOP 3 BRONZERS

Hello Beauties! Today on the blog to continue on my 'TOP 3' posts, i am sharing with you my most loved bronzers! Its funny, because i personally never wore bronzer! But then i realised that there is so much more to be done with bronzer then just bronzing! Like contouring for example, you can slim and shape your face how ever you like with the right bronzer. You can use it for eyeshadow, i put bronzer in my crease area when im having a lazy makeup day! It really works wonders! I have incorporated three different textures of bronzers for you so you can hopefully get a feel of what kind of bronzer you might be interested in trying next! Enough rambling, now on to the goodies...

LOREAL GLAM BRONZE
RRP $19.95
This little beauty is just a dream product, first off; this is a liquid product. So if you are just starting off with bronzers i probably would not recommend this product straight off the bat for newbies; but if you are feeling courageous and want to try this product then i say heck! Go for it! It really is a beautiful product to work with. This product does not have a pump, it is a twist off cap so you need to be super careful with handling this product. My best tip is just to give it good shake and put you finger on top of the open bottom and just dap minimal product where you want it and blend out with some sort of buffing brush for the most natural finish! Love love love this product would highly recommend!

RIMMEL NATURAL BRONZER - 02 SUN BRONZE
RRP - $15.95
If you had thoughts about using bronzer, this is product i would recommend for you if you are on a budget. A powder bronzer really is the easiest to apply if you are just beginning, not only can you see where you are placing product but you can also blend it out easier then most if we go a little overboard with the bronzer! Rimmel is fantastic brand to explore if you are wanting new makeup, they are affordable and they have a fantastic range of pretty much everything you would need. Yes, i love Rimmel!! From memory they had at least two shades to choose bronze for the bronzers, both very warm toned but still beautiful colours.

CHANEL SOLEIL TAN DE CHANEL (CREAM BRONZER)
RRP - AN ARM AND A LEG.
ONLY JOKING! From what i can remember this little pricey beauty is around the $60 mark.
I definitely saved the best for last! This is like my holy grail, my tried and true, my love. Yes it is possible to love a product this much and with the hefty price tag you would hope to love it this much! This is one of my highest recommendations for a bronzer if you are willing to fork out the 60 odd dollars for it. Let me tell you though, it is worth every dollar! This is such a easy product to work with, it is the right consistency between creamy, solid and mousy. It blends like a dream and looks so natural on the skin, being a cream it sinks in so easily it really looks like you have this beautiful bronze complexion. Can you tell i love this product? I honestly do not have one bad thing to say about this product! Except for maybe the availability, if you are having trouble finding this product and i do apologise if you are, i have purchased backup from a website called 'Cosmetics Now' i will have link for it down below!

MY TOP 3 FOUNDATIONS

Hello Beauties! Today on the blog i have my top 3 foundations! Foundations are definitely one of my weaknesses, i love a good foundation and just for any preferences about my skin type i have normal to combination skin, so this really allows me to test and trial all of them. So i have nailed it down to my 3 most used and beloved foundations, to my surprise they are all on the pricier side; the reason why i am surprised is because i am typically a 'drugstore' foundation kind of girl, but i have to hand it to the more pricey foundation, they do a pretty decent job as well!

MAC Studio Sculpt
This foundation is my most recent foundation purchase and already i can call it a holy grail foundation. This foundation would definitely be suitable for those with oilier skin. I find it has more of a satin to matte finish. It retails for $50.00 AUD in David Jones and Myer in Australia. My shade at the moment is NW20, the shade is perfect, it has more of a whipped consistency and it applies like a dream! I like to apply it with either a Beauty Blender or a Sigma Angled Kabuki Brush. I find it lasts all day, it hasn't oxidized once one me and it looks relatively 'natural' on the skin because it is a lighter consistency.
RRP $50.00 AUD

Arbonne Perfecting Liquid Foundation
I know being a consultant for Arbonne can be a little controversial, i could lie to you and tell you, you need this foundation in your life and you cant live without it. But the truth is.. it really is an amazing foundation and i honestly cannot rave about this product enough. It is one of those products that you just want to tell everyone about. This foundation along with the true match is my 'special occasion' foundation because it looks so flawless on the skin. I only use Arbonne foundation on my clients, not to toot my own horn or anything but they all look freaking beautiful with it on. It has a medium to full coverage or it can be sheered out with a damp sponge. They do have a wide variety of shades of foundation to choose from and it is Vegan friendly. My shade for fake tanning, which is the shade swatched in this post is Honey Beige, but for my paler days, i wear Buff. Also just a quick mention, this foundation suits all skin types!
RRP $56.00 AUD

 Loreal True Match
You know i really just have a strange love for this product, it's the 'i cant live without this product' kind of product. You know your going to look smoking hot when you wear this foundation, you know your base is going to be spot on, its everything you should want in a foundation. It has a thin consistency but yet it has amazing coverage. It has medium to full coverage and again can be sheered out with a beauty blender. It lasts all day and just looks beautiful, i honestly do not have one bad thing to say about this foundation! My shade is w3 Golden Beige
RRP $29.95

Let me know in the comments if you would like to see a 'drugstore' version of the foundations because, let me tell you i have a fair share of favorites on the cheaper side to!

MAC LIPSTICK COLLECTION

Hello Beauties! Today on the blog is my mac lipstick collection! Its certainly not the biggest collection but it is slowly growing bigger, if you are not Australian you might not be aware of the costly price tag that comes with these lipsticks, totally worth it, but they are pricey. $36.00 these little beauties cost! If there is one thing i could tell you about mac lipsticks is that they are pretty much a staple in my collection aswell as many other makeup junies out there, mainly for the fact that mac genuinely have such a large selection of colours that will suit everybody.

If you haven't purchased a mac lipstick before, ill let you know the basics of the amazing lipstick worlds for mac. First of all they have a couple of different finishes. Satin, matte, cremesheen, amplified and frost.

I have swatches of all of the lipsticks below, its a range of mattes and creamsheens!

Let me know in the comments what your favourite mac lipstick is! Im always looking to expand my collection and would appreciate any recommendations!

MADAM GLAM NAIL POLISH | REVIEW & SWATCHES

Hello Beauties! A few months back i was contacted by a very generous company called 'Madam Glam' the Marketing Manager of the company was generous enough to send me a couple of her nail polishes for the consideration of review. Now i am often contacted by various companies for consideration of a review for their products and i highly believe in giving my honest opinion, good or bad. Luckily this company gets a massive two thumbs up from me!

So it appears that in the last month or so Madam Glam has had an upgrade with the packaging so the photos you see in this post are the older packing. Personally i quite like this packing, i think it looks chic and nothing over the top; you can clearly see the colour and the logo and the name of the polish is printed on the round sticker on the bottom.

Lets get down to the crucial info about these pretty polishes! Madam Glam is based in New York but ships world wide! Shipping is quite fast considering i practically live on the other side of the world, it took under weeks for me to receive them in Australia. The process of everything is very professional, once you have ordered the polishes shipping is $5.00 and you receive a tracking number as soon as the product has been shipped.

The polishes retail for $10.95 each and they site has a HUGE amount of colours to choose from, there is also a cuticule oil and a treatment as well. I found with these polishes it was a one coat job, which if you love nail polish you know how amazing that is! Typically i will always do two coats because that is the OCD kind of person that i am but in the swatch photos, they all have just one coat! No base coat, no top coat just the polish.. kind of amazing i know.

The consistency, this subject is always a touchy one when it comes to polish but i was pleasantly surprised that with all of the solid colours with no glitter or shimmer in them were quite creamy. The glitters are your basic clear polish with glitter particals in them, they apply nicely and it wasnt that situation were you do one coat and three dots of glitter come out, this stuff is full on!

One last happy note, the lasting power. I tested out these polishes for a good solid couple of months and each time i wore them, i applied a top coat only and i found they lasted a good 4 days without chipping, which doesn't bother me much because i typically change my nail polish colour at lease one or twice a week.

Now its all happy days from the sound of it, but i do have one bit of criticism.. the brush. Its not a bad brush but its not my preferred brush. It is your standard nail polish brush, me personally i like a nice fat brush, two swipes and your done kind of brush, you know what i am talking about? If you do, you know how amazing they are.

SO! That's it, if you guys were interested in taking a look at this website and want to follow Madam Glam on any social medias i will have all of her links down below!

6 SUMMER BEAUTY ESSENTIALS

Hello beauties! Summer is officially here and i thought what a perfect time to break out some of my 6 summer favs! Some of these products are new to my collection but are very quickly becoming some of my new favourites!

As for foundation i decided to go for the mac studio sculpt because i do have normal to combination skin and this particular foundation has a nice satin finish so i do not finish it necessary to set it with a powder! RRP $50 AUD

I don't about you guys but i cannot leave the house without eyebrows and eyelashes! I am sure anyone who is obsessed with makeup will know what a difference brows and mascara can do for a person! They are game changing! I have chosen to go for a mascara that is both volumising and lengthening to have the best of both worlds, the Loreal Volume Million 'So Couture' mascara does the job perfectly! For brows.. girls & boys.. this product! Oooh this product works wonders! It is again by Loreal and it is the Brow Artist Plumber. A product that is very similar to the oh so famous Benefit Gimme Brow, it has fibers in it so it will make your brows look naturally thicker as well as giving it a tint. RRP (mascara - $27.95) RRP (Brow Plumper - $18.95)

This next product is not everyones cup of tea, but for me there is nothing better then beautiful glowing cheeks! Cream Blush; in particular the NYX cream blush in 'boho chic' is one of my favourites. It is the most stunning peachy pink i have every come across and a added bonus with any cream product, you can use fingers and it applies like a dream! RRP $11.95 (from Target)

Moving onto eyes, i came across a particular Christmas set from Laura Mercier; the caviar stick set! oh my word it is a dream! I am currently lusting over these amazing cream shadow pencils. The colour i have chosen is in the colour 'Amethyst' it is a taupe purple and it is dreamy! They apply so smoothly and set at a decent rate, it is optional from my experience to set them with a powder eyeshadow. RRP (Christmas set - $55.00) or RRP (individually - $39.00)

And finally! On to the lips, i have gone for a baby pink shade - Mac 'Snob' lipstick, i am sure that i do not need to tell you guys how amazing Mac lipsticks are! This particular colour, if you do not know already is a Satin finish and it is a beautiful blue based pink, words truly cannot describe my love for this lipstick! Of course you can alternate the lip colour and go for more of a peach or a orange red even! RRP - $36.00

LIP MONTHLY | NOVEMBER

Hello beauties! A while back i saw a video about this subscription service called 'Lip Monthly' it is U.S based and costs $10 a month, of course after the dollar conversion it costs $17.34 AUD which in my opinion is still a fantastic price for the value you receive, this months box is valued at $34.99; if you think about it we pay over $20 for Revlon, Loreal and Max Factor lipsticks! You receive 5 items in the bag each month and it seems to be a variety of products and not all lip products, i have received a few bags and this one is by far my favourite!

PROS:
  • The box value for us Australians is always going to be amazing because of the prices we pay
  • It is a nice way to try out brands we do not have easy access to.
  • Everyone loves free shipping!!
CONS:
  • Shipping takes ages, i received my November box on the 4th of December
  • Same goes for any subscription box, you may not love the colours of products you receive, but luckily i love all the products i received this month!
Besides that, that's really all i have to say about this subscription box, i think it is worth a go if you are in the market to try a new subscription. If you don't mind waiting a little extra time for this bag, i say go for it!!
